Had the most unbelievably delicious meal at New Sky Restaurant! I loved everything but the moo-shu pork was a dream come true for me! I had this dish when I was in high school and have been searching for it ever since. Stunning pork in a hoisin smeared sweet pancake... OMG! Snowpea leaves with garlic were absolutely delicious... I loved everything! Highly recommend. Customer service was fantastic too. I give New Sky 5/5. No complaints at all! ~ Suzie The Foodie
I order from this restaurant quite often, always for the general Tso's chicken. I've tried this dish from other restaurants, but this dish tastes the best from New Sky. There used to be a restaurant near Yonge and Wellsley a long time ago that had delicious chicken but alas, it closed. I am happy to have found a replacement! New Sky! Their chicken is very savoury and worth the sticker price. Plus if you use SKIPTHEDISHES, I find they also finish and send the food rather quickly.
My family had a quick dinner here after a long day exploring Toronto. We ordered several simple dishes and the food was great! Very traditional Cantonese cuisine: light and tasty! Service was great and quick; staff was friendly and attentive; seating was comfortable; atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Overall, dining experience was great!
I've been coming here for years and it is still the best chinese food in Toronto.
This is actually as close to a Peruvian Chifa style Chinese food as I've found in Toronto. Delicious.
This is amazing BBQ duck and other Peruvian-Asian cuisine called chifa.
Best general tao's chicken i've ever had! Crispy and the sauce is 🔥
Great food and fairly fast. Timely service but brought out some food too early than others ( I.e. part of the main before appetizer).
Just ordered food through door dash. Shrimp rolls had literally no shrimp in them, mixed veggies with cashews had no flavor. Worst part were the spring rolls, and I've included a photo of one. What happened here?? Very disappointing.
Food was okay. The fried squid was the best dish out of the 5 we were served. Restaurant is able to accommodate for more people by adding folding chairs to the table but it makes it very tight and the servers end up brushing against me. The red bean dessert served at the end was cold. I probably wouldn't visit here again but I have to say, service was really good.
The service is above the Chinatown average level. The food are very tasty and fresh. The price is fair. I will definitely go back to explore more dishes on the menu.
Tasty! Cleaner than your average Chinese restaurants.
Went there for the steamed fish, really tasty. The eggplant and tofu tastes good, but a little bit oily.
The steamed fish (menu item S2) was full of flavour to the bone. A healthy and delicious choice. Be extra careful with the fish bones. The snow peas and chinese mushrooms (menu item V13) was also outstanding as the mushrooms absorbed all the flavours. The servers were attentive despite the place being very busy on a Saturday. At one point there was so much food on the table, that there was no space left for the final dish, which was the steamed fish. The serving staff waited for us finish one of the other dishes so that they could make room for the final dish.
Friendly staff (pushy but still polite) and great selection of food. The bbq duck was slightly saltier than expected but still great. The crispy duck and lemon chicken were amazing. So was the house rice.
My friend and I came in an hour before closing. We were given free bowls of their daily soup and dessert after we ordered since they were closing relatively soon. The free food was kinda cold but free is always welcome. The food we actually ordered were delicious. Service was great and even observed a dine and dash and how professional the service staff handled it. Sucks that the absent owners would withhold staff pay if a customer leaves without paying.
Excellent Chinese food! Quality is excellent! Othentic Chinese food and very tasty. Not expensive but not cheep either.
The beef fried rice is amazing here 👌
Great selection of food. Food taste good.
Everytime I go to Toronto I always stop there at least once. Food is always fresh and great service.
A causal atmosphere with decent crowd . LLBO (liquor license)
The dishes are big and made really well. Flavours were traditional yet unique in comparison to other Chinese restaurant. Snow pea leaves were really good, highly recommend. Service was good, seating was comfortable and they have a good Atmosphere, especially if it's your birthday.
I ordered delivery from this place. The container was not even closed so half the food fell out into the bag, gross. Then what was left of the food was terrible. If I could give this place a negative rating I would.
The food was delicious and the portions were big. Glad my son and I chose New Sky while visiting Chinatown today. We will definitely return.
We try Chinese food on all of our travels. The best pork fried rice man. Can be compared to Joe's kitchen in NYC. My husband and I split the plate which was filling on it's own. He also ordered sliced beef with onions, peppers and ginger. Cant believe I didnt take a pic. That dish is served piping hot and is delicious. I got the lobster special and it was actually good. Has a sort of thick sauce which took me by surprise but was good. Next time I will try my the orange chicken, looked crunchy. The staff is super polite and friendly. Nice environment. Clean!
One of the more attractive of the longstanding chinatown restaurants, with polite, and attentive service, and a Peruvian/Chinese menu as well.Only downside is that due to COVID some of their menu has changed
First time coming here later in the evening after a Jays game. I ordered the Crispy Duck while my buddy ordered the beef and tomato. Both were very good. I also had the hot tea with the meal. Pretty good service and overall experience.
Just ordered General Tao chicken. Barely any meat on the pieces, mostly batter. There was plenty of room to fit more pieces in the container. Further, there were tiny pieces of rice and noodles at the bottom of the chicken pieces as if the chicken was taken from a plate of rice and noodles. Definitely would not recommend if you are looking forward to meatful pieces of chicken, as opposed to batter and hard gum-like chewy pieces.
Nice, but not great. A bit overpriced for Spadina.
Ordered it through delivery. The congee is not bad. The chicken is over-savoury like they have endless salt for free.
Love their roast duck and and roast pork here. Definitely had that taste of old Cantonese cuisine that can be found in Hong Kong from 15 years ago
Despite it being a late night dine-in, the staff delivered great and friendly customer service. They delivered the food quickly and it was very tasty. The price is also good for what it's worth. I would come back again.
This is truly the king of Chinatown...best food hands down no contest, TKO. Thank me later!
My only complaint was the price of the chicken wings. I feel it was a little higher than should have been. Otherwise the service, cleanliness and overall enviorment was welcoming.
This is, by a considerable distance, the best restaurant I have ever dined at. My wedding reception and wake will surely feature this fine cuisine, hopefully served up by Charlie himself. Five stars.
Most dishes are delicious. They specialize in seafood and chicken. Service is subpar, but that's not what you come here for.
Here is amazing Chinese food 👍
Freshly made food (veggies included), nice customer service, including at the take out orders' desk. Vast and varied menu; excellent location for Chinese Food group dining. I love the reasonable pricing! ...1 male waiter nervously looking me over as if for approval caused the 1 unearned star!
We waited a whole hour from the time we were seated to the time food came, though it tasted good when it came. Too many takeout and delivery orders pushes them beyond kitchen capacity.
One of the better Chinese restaurants on Spadina. Their grouper with tofu lunch special is very good.
Many other restaurants in the area with much better food
Oh wow! Their beef with broccoli is the best I ever tried! Fast service, very friendly staff and the most important - delicious food. Variety of dishes. They serve alcohol too.
Good chinese food in here woth excellent staff.
Ever since the Globe's critic gave New Sky a fine review (more than 10 years ago), it's been a busy survivor, even as Spadina transforms to odd specialities. The food is over-priced but the surroundings are decent. The moo-shu items are mostly cabbage and the pancakes are from a package. The real low point, literally, is the descent into the hellish lower level where toilets that are neglected await. Wait to travel there until after dinner.
one of the best authentic and clean chinese restaurant in toronto.
I ordered crispy spring rolls from this restaurant along with other items via uber eats. It was delivered in a paper bag with sauce that in a plastic cup. Sauce leaked all over the rolls making them soggy. This was my 2nd time ordering from them but i will never order from them again.
The staff was nice and kind but the food was not good
Authentic, delicious Cantonese cuisine at a great price! Attentive and friendly service. Portions were big too! It’s definitely a hidden gem in Chinatown! Even my picky daddy agrees. Will surely come here again!
Been here multiple times and the food is excellent each time.
Service was attentive. Each dish was very nicely prepared, tasty and served piping hot. Very good value. Enjoyed by all from the 2 yr old to the 75 yr old.
